If you are going on vacation and would like to have the patrol keep an eye on your home, please complete the Vacation Watch form below and click the submit button.

Our deputies keep the information you provide and perform routine (usually daily) checks of homes on their watch list. These checks include walking around the home and looking for any signs of trouble, such as open doors and windows or evidence of attempted break-ins.

To assist our patrol deputies, be sure to provide relevant information about who might be at your home at any given time, such as a maid, gardener, pool cleaner, family member, etc. It is also useful to describe any car you may leave parked in the driveway or any security measures you have taken, such as setting security alarms and locking gates.

It is important that deputies have the name and phone number of a local person to contact should the need arise. Space is provided on the Vacation Watch form for this information. Using the additional information box on the electronic form, you may also wish to instruct deputies who to call first, in the event of routine issues, such as package deliveries left on your porch or advertising flyers on your door.

The more complete the information they receive, the better they can serve you while you are away.

When not responding to immediate security issues or criminal activity, WDDNA’s off-duty Sheriff’s Department deputies will check homes on the vacation watch list during their daily patrols of the neighborhood. The frequency of vacation watch checks is dependent on deputy availability.
